Computational methods for phasing biobank sequence data
Project Summary Next-generaƟon biobanks will contain sequence data for millions of individuals. This project will develop genotype phasing methods for these immense data sets. Genotype phasing esƟmates an individual's haplotypes, which are the two sequences of alleles that are inherited from the parents. Genotype phasing is necessary in order to perform powerful haplotype-based analyses. This project will develop computaƟonal methods that substanƟally reduce the cost of genotype phasing, so that it is possible to phase large biobanks for an acceptable cost.
