The emerging paradox between widespread support for liberal democracy and rising anti-immigrant attitudes across Europe and the Middle East presents a critical challenge to democratic governance. This contradiction threatens core democratic values, as societies that advocate equal rights simultaneously adopt exclusionary attitudes.
