Dynamics in 3D Structures of Zero-Excess Devices

Ion diffusion, intercalation, adsorption and deposition dynamics under an electric field are the fundamental principles of the majority of electrochemical energy devices. Yet, the relationship between ion transport dynamics and 3D structures remains elusive. 3D-ZERO aims to visualise, understand, and manipulate ion transport dynamics and the interplay among the physicochemical properties, and untangle the complex bulk microstructural and interfacial phenomena inside electrochemical devices. 3D-ZERO will pioneer operando correlative imaging of X-ray Compton scattering–computed tomography (XCS-CT) to unravel the underlying chemical heterogeneity in 3D structures for rational design of…
