Effective Field Theories to understand and predict the Nature of the XYZ Exotic Hadrons

Two decades ago, the field of strongly interacting particles entered a golden age with the discovery of exotic hadrons labeled as XYZs. The breakthrough fueled a surge in experimental research, uncovering dozens of states that appear to lie outside the conventional quark model, although some still require experimental confirmation. The plethora of new states has sparked intense theoretical investigations into new forms of matter, such as quark-gluon hybrids, mesonic molecules, and tetraquarks, making it one of the most significant open problems in particle physics.
