The discovery of black holes, first as explicit solutions of Einstein equations of general relativity, and later as possible explanations of astrophysical phenomena, has revolutionized our understanding of the universe. From a mathematical perspective, a central issue is to investigate the stability of these fascinating objects. This is the focus of the present proposal containing the following work packages: -Kerr stability conjecture. This concerns the nonlinear stability of Kerr black holes which form a 2-parameter family of explicit solutions to Einstein vacuum equations. It has become, since its discovery by R.
