Deconvoluting Signaling Activities of Mitochondrial-derived Reactive Metabolites with Unparalleled Depth and Spatiotemporal Precision

My group’s recent work mapping organ-specific proteome reactivity to reactive lipids (2024 Cell in press) provides a key step toward decoding how cell-specific reactive chemical signaling impacts animal decision-making. This knowledge is biomedically important because understanding spatiotemporal proteome reactivity to innate reactive metabolites is a burgeoning concept relevant to precision drug design. Yet, achieving comprehensive cartography of living systems featuring both locale and function of individual reactive metabolites remains difficult.
